That was obviosly a stupid mistake on my part. I remember there was some kind of a reference to Doraemon in the first volume, "the Melancholy", where Haruhi was compared to a Doraemon. Looks like it decieved me. Stupid, stupid me. Thanks for pointing that out!
As to "rolling around like panda", we're currently investigating this. A temporary change is as it is now: "Haruhi was shining like panda and rolling around", to make it clear that rolling around is not related to a panda-likeness.
К вопросу о русском переводе. Слово "plane" (TTPD) можно перевести как "проекция, грань, плоскость", я бы перевёл "пласт", ну никак не "кадр".
Перевод текста - это не перевод слов текста. Слово "кадр", на мой взгляд, хорошо передаёт смысл, так что не стоит его пугаться. Пласт, плоскость - допустимые переводы, "плоскость времени" даже используется в большинстве случаев, но "кадр" ничуть не хуже.
Я бы сказал «временной срез» или «временно́е сечение».
